Our Vision

Architecture, where the land ends. And beyond.

Most of the planet is water. Almost none of it is built on. Aquastra exists to change that, with restraint, permanence, and architectural intent.

The Name
AQUA×ASTRA

AQUA — Water, the world’s most expansive and under-built surface.

ASTRA — Stars, vision, aspiration, and the future of the built environment.

Together: water becomes a new surface for human ambition.

Who We Are

A new chapter in marine architecture.

Aquastra Marine was established in Dubai with a singular purpose: to redefine what is possible on water, drawing on decades of combined expertise in composite boatbuilding, luxury architecture, and marine engineering.

Our Mission

To engineer floating architecture of the highest standard, structures that are safe, beautiful, sustainable, and built for generations.

Our Vision

To be the world’s foremost builder of composite floating platforms, recognised by governments, developers, and private clients as the definitive name in floating architecture.

We do not build pontoons.
We engineer floating architecture to the same exacting standards as a superyacht.

Engineering Philosophy

Built differently. By design.

The floating-structures market is crowded with compromises: pontoons welded from steel, foam-filled blocks, plastic cubes assembled on-site. Aquastra builds none of these. Every platform is a genuine composite marine hull, engineered with the same professional boatbuilding methodology applied to high-performance superyachts.

Steel pontoons

Heavy, corrosion-prone, limited design flexibility, structurally compromised in open water.

Floating pipes & cubes

Low-grade modular systems with poor aesthetics and a fraction of the lifespan of a marine hull.

Aquastra composite hull

Advanced fibre-reinforced composite, lightweight, corrosion-free, engineered for wave action, built to last decades.

The Platform

Trimaran and quadrimaran. That is the difference.

Every Aquastra structure rides on multiple parallel composite hulls, three for mid-scale platforms in sheltered waters, four for the largest open-water structures. This is the proprietary multihull system the collection is built on. And these are not illustrations: they are rendered directly from the naval-architecture CAD models.

Hull configuration
Stern elevation of a trimaran platform: three broad composite hulls joined by tunnel notches into one continuous underbody, with the waterline crossing the hulls at a shallow coastal draft.
Stern elevation of a quadrimaran platform: four broad composite hulls joined by tunnel notches into one continuous underbody, wider and deeper in the water than the trimaran.

The Strategy

One platform. Three markets.

The same platform configured for a forward operating hub, a five-star floating venue, or a private estate, without retooling.

Three independent demand streams from one production line. Defence, commercial, and private cycles move differently; together they reduce concentration risk.

The Advantage

Built in the Emirates. Deployed everywhere.

Aquastra’s production yard in Dubai — manufacturing at home, with no shipping cost and no logistics premium.

An imported platform carries import freight, a delivery voyage and a logistics premium before it reaches the water. Ours does not. Local content preference; an Emirates supply chain.

Why Aquastra

Six principles, from the hull up.

Marine Engineering

Professional composite hull construction to certified boatbuilding standards, not adapted land architecture.

Luxury Architecture

Every interior and exterior designed to the standard of a premium superyacht or five-star resort.

Sustainability

Zero seabed damage, no dredging, solar and electric readiness, built with the ocean’s future in mind.

Innovation

Trimaran and quadrimaran multihull platforms, modular superstructure systems, and hybrid propulsion integration.

Mobility

Unlike fixed structures, every platform is fully relocatable, adapting to changing markets and environments.

Customisation

Layout, materials, finishes, and technology tailored to the client’s vision, without compromise.

Floating Cities

The platform is the building block.

As coastlines become congested, our modular platform technology gives governments, sovereign developers, and visionary investors the infrastructure to build entire communities on water.

Floating Communities

Permanent residential neighbourhoods clustered on interconnected platforms.

Floating Marinas

Full-service marina facilities and yacht clubs on modular floating infrastructure.

Floating Resorts

Multi-hectare developments combining hospitality, leisure, and residential on water.

Government Hubs

Sovereign floating districts for administrative, defence, and civic functions.

Business Districts

Floating commercial zones for corporate headquarters and mixed-use districts.

Heritage

Two decades on the water, before the first platform.

Aquastra was not founded on a rendering. It began generations back, in a family boatyard on the Tunisian coast, and that craft runs through every hull we lay today.

Leadership

From traditional craftsmanship
to the future of floating architecture.

Some careers begin with a job. Others begin with a legacy. For Mohamed Jomaa, boatbuilding has been part of his family’s heritage for generations.

Mohamed Jomaa, Co-Founder & CEO, Aquastra Marine

Mohamed Jomaa

Co-Founder & CEO

His journey began more than twenty years ago in his family’s traditional boatyard in Tunisia, building wooden fishing boats, commercial workboats, and pleasure craft, and learning, surrounded by generations of craftsmanship, what the sea demands of the people who build for it.

Driven to master the next generation of marine technology, he moved to the UAE and built deep expertise in advanced composite construction, sports-fishing boats, luxury houseboats, and yachts, in wood, aluminium, steel, and composite alike.

His journey continued in the Maldives, where he led engineering and production at one of the region’s leading marine manufacturers, delivering commercial passenger vessels, from island ferries to premium transfer boats serving some of the world’s most prestigious resorts. Across that career he has led the delivery of hundreds of vessels and marine projects.

After two decades building boats for others, he envisioned something greater: a company that would merge marine engineering with modern architecture to create a new generation of sustainable floating spaces. That vision became Aquastra Marine, shaped with a strategic partner whose brand and commercial structure carry it to government, hospitality, commercial and private clients.
